The Festival
From the 10th to the 13th September, striking films, some never before seen, with themes relating to the environment, biodiversity, shamanism and the influences of indigenous cultures upon the Western world will be presented at the Honest Planet Film Festival.
Giving occasion for thoughtful insight and reflection upon what our GLOBAL environment now faces.
These films will be presented in a space and environment consistent with the nature of the concept: "Honest Planet".
The screenings will be followed by multi-disciplinary roundtables formed by different invited participant speakers (such as farmers, seed suppliers, distributors, scientists, and traditional healers). All participant speakers are invited to explain the stakes involved as they see them within their own given expertise and to give their ideas and solutions on specific alternative ideas for the benefit and longevity of our planet.
The place:
A beautiful property estate in Provence (Cadenet) in the South of France, where thousands of trees grow (olive and walnut trees, oaks, pines, and an entire orchard) as well as lavender, thyme and rosemary...
While respecting the ecology of the landscape surrounding the estate, with the use of solar panels, bio-climatic building materials and relaxing garden designed by Gilles Clément (the creator of the garden at the Quai Branly Museum in Paris), the environment conceived and then created for the festival concept is inspirational to the environmental awakening that this festival and roundtable discussion hopes to achieve towards it environmental consciousness goals.
The goal:
The goal of the Festival is to raise the consciousness of the public by sharing information and proposing now solutions, provided by it’s various participants, thereby promoting an energetic citizen attitude in which the spectators become "consum'actors", interacting with the world in a pragmatic and environmentally innovative way.
